Citi Bike is offering expanded access to bike share through a $5/month membership for JCHA residents, HHA residents, and SNAP recipients!
Citi Bike is a fun and affordable way to get around the city, and a great alternative to the subway, buses, walking, or taxis. It’s designed for quick trips with convenience in mind and can be especially helpful in getting you where you need to go when traditional public transit options might be limited.
When you become a member, you will have access to thousands of bikes around Jersey City, Hoboken, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx. You can take as many rides as you want while your membership is active, and the first 45 minutes of each ride are included in your plan with no extra costs. See usage feesfor longer rides.
A new Citi Bike app recently launched, with features to make rides smoother and more convenient. As part of the update, upon enrollment, every Reduced Fare Bike Share membership will now be a $5/month plan with automatic renewals.
Once members have updated their Citi Bike app, they can enroll in the new plan through either the app or website to continue riding. There’s no need to re-submit eligibility documents.
Opt out at any time. Once RFBS members are enrolled in the new monthly plan, they’ll receive a reminder email 5 days before their next automatic monthly membership payment so they can adjust their membership if needed.
The first 45 minutes of each ride are included in the monthly membership price. If you keep a bike out for longer than 45 minutes at a time, extra usage fees apply.
